  • Soothr – Intimate space with al fresco dining offering Thai noodles & soups, plus cocktails
    • Location: East Village 
    • Atmosphere: Small, casual, vintage 
    • Suggestions: Chicken khao soi, yum nuer, mango sundae 
    • Reservations: Strongly suggested, but not too difficult to get if you book in advance 
    • A Good Place For: A casual dinner with friends
    • Note: Soothr is properly pronounced “Sood”

    • Atmosphere: Mashed-up diner with Thai accents, colorful 
    • Suggestions: Phat see ew, kaeng kieow waan
    • Reservations: Thai Diner is primarily a walk-in based restaurant with limited reservations taken up to one week in advance via their website, thaidiner.com, or Resy 
    • A Good Place For: A date, a small group dinner (2-4 people), someone who is visiting NYC

  • Wayla – Homestyle Thai fare inspired by the markets of Bangkok is served in a stylish space with a patio
    • Location: Lower East Side
    • Atmosphere: Simplistic, quaint
    • Suggestions: Moo sarong (pork meatballs), peek gai tod (chicken wings), maa’s gaeng pak (yellow curry), mango mousse
