Hi! My name is Danielle, but my childhood friends call me Flanny, my NYC friends call me DM, my parents call me Belly, and the boy in my kindergarten class called me Smelly Danielley. I am from Brighton, Michigan but have been living in NYC for the last 7 years. While I refuse to get a NY driver’s license, the more time I spend eating my way through this city, the more I want to stay.

When you move to NYC, feeling overwhelmed is not unique, it’s the norm. There’s so much to see, do, taste, and explore, it’s hard to know where to begin. For me, I struggled to figure out where to eat on the weekends, when my family was in town, etc. I received suggestion after suggestion and finally began to keep track. I started my NYC restaurant bucket list journey on the “Notes” app on my iPhone, and over time friends began asking to follow the list. As the follower count grew, I decided the pages of suggestions should be available to everyone, which is why I started this blog.
Ironically, I grew up a famously picky eater. My parents used to cater family dinner to what I would eat, which was a much shorter list than the things I wouldn’t eat. Over the years, I’ve mostly grown out of my pickiness, though seafood, eggs, and yogurt are still on my “no can do” list. While I am a frequent asker of “sauce on the side” or “can I get that without…” my preferences are consistent from restaurant to restaurant. And, you know what they say, consistency is key.
Anyway, if you care to learn more about the NYC food scene from a previously picky eater turned food lover, explore my blog for restaurant recommendations and bucket list spots!
